Gaps

The Group Gaps category measures how companies within an industry or theme behave at the open relative to critical price levels—such as resistance, support, or the previous day’s high and low.

These gap metrics provide an early snapshot of conviction, pressure, or surprise moves within a group and help identify market reactions to earnings, news, or momentum events.

Values are shown as either:

  • Percentage of companies within the group that gapped across key levels
  • Total count of companies with gap-up or gap-down opens

These metrics are especially useful when:

  • Spotting industries with strong pre-market conviction or risk aversion
  • Surfacing breakout/breakdown potential at the group level
  • Validating trade direction with post-gap continuation filters
  • Comparing morning behavior across industries and themes
