Using Ticker Strategy Profiles

Ticker Strategy Profiles are prebuilt scans that help you surface real-time trade setups. Each profile combines curated filters, metrics, and sorting logic to highlight key conditions — such as AI-confirmed direction, momentum strength, earnings reactions, or institutional participation.

They make it easier to:

  • Quickly surface real-time trade setups without applying filters manually
  • Focus on tickers that meet structural, volume, or behavioral conditions
  • Access high-conviction setups with AI-calculated stop, target, and risk/reward
  • Scan thousands of active stocks using prebuilt strategy logic during any market session
  • Build watchlists or Multi-Chart views with setups aligned to your style and timing

Profiles update continuously and are grouped by category to match market conditions or strategic focus.

When Should I Use Each Profile?

Each category is suited to different types of setups, sessions, and workflows:

Default

Session-based profiles that auto-activate depending on the time of day — Pre Market, Regular Market, Post Market, or Market Closed. These are best used as dynamic starting points to monitor active stocks, view relevant columns, and begin building filters or screeners based on your strategy.

  • Monitor which stocks are most active during each session
  • Quickly assess gaps, leadership shifts, or volume before applying filters
  • Launch exploratory scans based on relevant session-specific metrics

AI Setups

These are MarketAlpha’s most powerful profiles. Every result includes a real-time AI - Alpha Strategy and meets strict risk/reward and structural criteria. These setups are selected because the AI engine detects a valid trade opportunity with favorable reward-to-risk ratio and minimal resistance or support in the way.

  • Trade only setups with AI-confirmed entries, stops, and targets
  • Focus on high-conviction opportunities with low overhead resistance or support
  • Avoid manual filtering and go straight to structured setups in real time

Custom Strategies

These profiles filter based on structural clarity, R/R thresholds, volatility, or clean price action — regardless of AI bias. You’ll see long and short candidates that meet strategic criteria even if the AI hasn’t flagged them.

  • Scan for clean technical setups without AI strategy filters
  • Run your own system based on R/R or structural movement
  • Validate setups manually using filters like ATRP, range, or volatility

Momentum

Momentum profiles focus on stocks showing strong directional movement — either intraday, long-term, or across sectors and themes. Some include blended signals like Super Leaders, which combine RS and fundamental ratings.

  • Identify trending tickers with confirmed breakout structure
  • Find leadership based on relative strength (1D, 1Y) or group alignment
  • Combine price momentum with theme, sector, or rating performance

Institutional Activity

These profiles track smart money behavior — including accumulation, distribution, and volume surges. Some scans look for institutional buying into weakness or selling strength, helping spot potential turning points.

  • Follow institutional capital rotation and volume clusters
  • Spot unusual inflow into underperforming names (contrarian setups)
  • Confirm existing breakouts with high-volume buying or selling

Earnings

These profiles center around earnings events and fundamental momentum. They track both scheduled reports and post-report reactions, and include setups driven by earnings and sales acceleration.

  • Monitor upcoming catalysts or recent quarterly reactions
  • Trade earnings gaps, continuation setups, or surprises
  • Find strong companies accelerating across EPS and revenue

Fundamentals

Fundamental profiles help you identify high-quality or undervalued companies. They include filters based on analyst ratings, DCF valuation, profitability, margins, and debt.

  • Build swing watchlists of stable, capital-efficient companies
  • Scan for valuation mismatches or improving financials
  • Combine quality signals with momentum or breakout setups

Explorations

These profiles are meant for broad discovery. They help you surface interesting behavior across ETFs, margin shifts, EPS trends, sales growth, and theme-level fundamentals.

  • Discover unusual or improving traits across broad groups
  • Find profit margin leaders, earnings trends, or strong ETFs
  • Build exploratory watchlists across changing styles or themes

Corporate Events

These profiles highlight stocks influenced by recent or upcoming structural events such as IPOs, splits, and dividend payouts. These events often result in short-term volatility or long-term leadership formation.

  • Monitor newly listed IPOs for early breakout behavior
  • Time dividend setups or float-related reactions post-split
  • Catch event-driven setups with follow-through potential
