AI Strategies

The AI Strategies category includes a set of proprietary signals and performance metrics generated by MarketAlpha’s real-time models. These indicators are used in conjunction with the Alpha Strategy—an automatically selected directional bias (Long or Short) assigned by the AI based on price action, support/resistance, and contextual pattern recognition.

Each metric in this group serves a distinct analytical function: from validating directional strength to calculating risk/reward, estimating time-to-target, and evaluating structural clarity. Unlike traditional technical signals that rely on static thresholds, these AI-driven metrics are adaptive, dynamic, and deeply integrated into MarketAlpha’s real-time scanning engine.

Combining these AI-generated metrics offers an integrated workflow: start with Alpha Strategy to filter directional candidates, use Price Action Confirmation to avoid weak or conflicting signals, and apply Risk/Reward with Path to Target and Days to Target to size and time setups effectively. This mirrors best practices in both algorithmic and discretionary trading—emphasizing trade quality, defined structure, and disciplined execution.

Together, these metrics streamline screening, deepen analytical workflows, and help isolate setups with well-defined characteristics—improving consistency, selectivity, and decision alignment across different research and execution styles.

AI - Alpha Strategy

Indicates the AI-recommended direction for the ticker (Long or Short), along with a confidence score based on current price action. This directional bias is generated using MarketAlpha’s proprietary models, which blend technical and fundamental factors to detect high-conviction setups in real time.

This is the core signal upon which all other AI Strategy metrics are built. It helps streamline decision-making by clearly stating the most probable direction of movement, removing guesswork from trend identification. It can be used as a primary filter when scanning for directional opportunities across thousands of tickers.

AI - Price Action Confirmation

Measures how strongly recent price movements align with and support the AI's Alpha Strategy. The confidence level is rated from 0 (Very Low) to 4 (Very High), based on price structure, trend behavior, and short-term volatility.

This metric helps validate the directional signal by quantifying whether the current momentum reinforces the AI’s bias. It is especially useful as a second-level filter in screeners to surface setups with both predictive direction and supporting movement. Higher confirmation values signal increased reliability of the projected move.

AI - Risk/Reward

Ratio between the expected upside (reward) and downside (risk), calculated using the AI-identified support and resistance zones. Values above 3 are considered favorable, with the ratio displayed as -/+ when no valid support or resistance zones are available.

This is a key metric for assessing setup quality and is commonly used to prioritize opportunities with strong asymmetry—where the potential reward significantly outweighs the downside. It enables efficient sorting of scan results by expected trade efficiency and helps eliminate setups with poor risk profiles.

AI - Risk/Reward 1st

Ratio between the expected upside (reward) and downside (risk), calculated using the first support and resistance zone for the AI-selected Alpha Strategy. Values above 3 are considered optimal; unavailable zones return a -/+ value. It highlights setups where favorable conditions begin forming early in the move. Values above 3 are considered optimal; unavailable zones return a -/+ value.

This variant is helpful for identifying early-stage opportunities that may not yet have developed a full structure but still offer compelling potential. It can be especially useful in shorter-term scans or when refining entry timing based on nearby technical zones.

AI - Path to Target

Measures the number of resistance or support zones between the current price and the AI’s final target level, depending on whether the strategy is Long or Short. A lower count (typically fewer than 2 zones) implies fewer obstacles and a clearer route to the target.

This structural clarity metric is valuable for filtering setups where price has room to move without running into frequent barriers. It's particularly useful in momentum-based or breakout strategies, as it helps prioritize scenarios with clean directional flow.

AI - Estimated Days to Target

Calculates the number of days it may take for the price to reach the AI-projected target, based on historical volatility and recent price movement. It adapts dynamically to different volatility regimes and provides a time horizon estimate for the setup.

This timing metric helps synchronize opportunities with various time-based strategies, such as swing or multi-day setups. It can also be used to group or filter setups by duration, supporting better alignment with holding preferences or risk schedules.
