The Bullish Activity Detection profile identifies industries and themes showing broad upside momentum during the current session. It focuses on groups where many companies are breaking resistance, gapping higher, making new highs, or showing strong relative strength - helping you find real leadership instead of isolated winners.

This profile updates in real time and applies filters automatically to highlight groups showing broad bullish activity. It is useful for finding breakout clusters, momentum leadership, and areas where strength is spreading across many companies at once.

Filters Applied​

This profile uses multiple bullish activity filters joined by an OR condition. A group appears if it meets any of the following thresholds:

  • Cleared Resistance After Open (%) > 50
  • 20 Day Highs & 4%+ > 4
  • Last Price > Prev. High (%) > 50
  • Gap Over Prev. High (%) > 50
  • Gap Over Resistance (%) > 50
  • Rel. Strength 1 Day 90+ (%) > 50

These conditions are designed to capture groups showing broad participation-driven strength during the current session.

Metrics Used​

Group Identity and Participation​

  • Industry / Theme: Identifies the group so you can compare bullish activity across industries and themes.
  • Tickers: Shows how many companies are in the group, which helps frame the breadth of the move.

Breakout and Momentum Signals​

  • Cleared Resistance After Open (%): Shows the percentage of companies breaking above resistance after the open, which helps confirm intraday strength.
  • 20 Day Highs & 4%+: Shows how many companies are making new 20-day highs while gaining more than 4%, helping confirm stronger momentum.
  • Last Price > Prev. High (%): Shows the percentage of companies trading above their previous high, reinforcing group-wide breakout behavior.
  • Gap Over Prev. High (%): Shows how many companies opened above the previous high, which helps confirm overnight strength.
  • Gap Over Resistance (%): Shows how many companies gapped above structural resistance, reinforcing the breakout signal.
  • Rel. Strength 1 Day 90+ (%): Shows the percentage of companies displaying top-tier short-term outperformance.

Intraday Movement​

  • Change Pre (%): Adds pre-market context and can help show whether strength started before the open.
  • Change From Close (%): Tracks regular-session movement and helps confirm follow-through.

Group Ratings and Leadership Scores​

  • Group Rating 1 Day: Adds current-session context and serves as the default sorting metric.
  • Group Rating 1 Year: Adds longer-term context so you can judge whether current leadership aligns with the broader trend.
  • Rel. Strength 1 Year 90+ (%): Shows how much longer-term strength is concentrated inside the group.

Volume and Liquidity​

  • Total Volume (%): Shows how much of market volume is concentrated in the group.
  • Relative Volume: Helps confirm whether the move is being supported by elevated participation.

Return Context​

  • Return Year to Date (%): Helps place the current strength in the context of the group’s broader yearly trend.

Institutional Flow and Setup Alignment​

  • Accumulation/Distribution Score: Adds institutional-flow context and helps confirm whether strength is backed by accumulation.
  • Reports Earnings Within 1 Week: Highlights near-term catalysts that may reinforce or disrupt the momentum.
  • Top Alpha Setups: Shows whether the bullish activity is also producing concentrated setup opportunity.

Compression Context​

  • Tight Range (%): Highlights compression that may have resolved into the current breakout or may still support further expansion.

Default Sorting Logic​

Results are sorted by Group Rating 1 Day in descending order, putting the strongest bullish-activity groups at the top.
