Alpha Strategies

Overview​

The Alpha Strategies profile groups the market by the strategy MarketAlpha's AI currently prefers for each stock, long or short, based on live price structure and trend behavior. Boxes are sized by market capitalization and colored by the AI Risk/Reward ratio, so within each strategy camp the most favorable setups stand out.

The camp sizes themselves are a signal. When the long side dwarfs the short side, the AI is finding bullish structure across most of the market; when the short camp swells, structural damage is spreading. It is a market-bias gauge built from thousands of individual chart reads.

Alpha Strategies are recalculated in real time as price structure evolves, so a stock can migrate between camps during the day. Deeper colors mark higher risk/reward, with values above 2 considered favorable.

Metrics Behind the Map​

  • Alpha Strategy: The preferred strategy chosen by MarketAlpha's AI for each stock, based on current price structure.
  • Market Capitalization ($): The total dollar value of a company's outstanding shares, so each camp's weight reflects the real size of its members.
  • AI - Risk/Reward: The ratio between expected upside and downside for the final target of the Auto Alpha Strategy, calculated from identified support and resistance zones. Values above 2 are considered favorable.
