Days to Target
Days to Target estimates how long price may take to reach the strategy’s final target level. It adds a time expectation alongside Risk/Reward and Path to Target, helping you decide whether a setup looks like a quick move or one that may take longer to play out.
You’ll see Days to Target in the top-left chart info panel when hovering, and inside the Long/Short strategy tables in Ticker Viewer and Data Viewer.
Like all strategy metrics, it updates in real time as price moves.
Why It Matters
Two setups can have the same Risk/Reward, but behave very differently in practice:
- One may have clean structure and reach the target quickly
- Another may still reach the target, but only after multiple pauses, pullbacks, or slow grinding price action
Days to Target helps you prioritize opportunities that better match your intended time horizon and workflow.
How It Works
Days to Target is a model-based estimate driven by:
- How far price needs to travel to reach the final target
- Expected volatility and typical movement behavior
- How price historically behaves in similar conditions
This turns a pure price projection into a practical expectation: whether the move is likely to be fast and efficient, or slow and drawn out.
How to Use It
Days to Target becomes most useful when paired with Path to Target:
- Low Path + Low Days often points to clean, fast setups with fewer barriers
- Higher Path + Higher Days often implies more friction and slower progress toward the target
This is especially helpful when you’re scanning large universes and want to focus only on the most efficient opportunities.
