Screener & Filters​

Ticker vs. Group Screener: What's the difference?​

  • Ticker Screener analyzes individual stocks using AI-generated trade setups, price behavior, technical structure, and strategy filters.
  • Group Screener focuses on industries and themes by aggregating ticker-level data into group-level insights.

Can I apply filters inside Multi-Charts?​

Not directly. Multi-Charts is designed for visual exploration, not filtering.

To filter:

  1. Use the Ticker Screener to apply filters.
  2. Select the tickers you're interested in.
  3. Launch them inside Multi-Charts for side-by-side comparison.

Can I export screener data?​

Yes — you can export screener results:

  • Export table to .csv: Downloads all visible results from the screener, including all pages and all columns currently shown.
  • Available via the Export button in the Screener Toolbar on top left.

Metrics & Strategy Logic​

What is AI Alpha Strategy?​

This metric reflects the platform’s directional bias for a given stock — Long or Short — based on current structure, price behavior, and overall trend.

How is Risk/Reward calculated?​

Risk/Reward is based on:

  • Target: Distance from last price to the next resistance or technical upside cluster
  • Stop: Distance from last price to the nearest support zone or downside risk barrier

The ratio = target distance ÷ stop distance. Values above 3 are considered high-quality setups.

Data Questions​

Are extended hours (pre- and post-market) supported?​

Yes — MarketAlpha fully supports extended hours with 100% volume coverage, including dark pools.

  • On charts, extended session activity appears as orange candles
  • In screeners, extended-hour metrics can be filtered and sorted
  • Screeners auto-load profiles with relevant metrics for external hours

Why is a stock missing from the screener, even though it exists elsewhere?​

MarketAlpha includes only actively traded tickers with high-quality data. We exclude:

  • Warrants
  • Preferred shares
  • Illiquid OTC or pink sheet tickers
  • Delisted or suspended securities

If a symbol appears to be missing in error, contact support@marketalpha.ai and we’ll investigate.

Why is there a slight delay in screener updates?​

MarketAlpha continously processes thousands of ticker to calculate support/resistance levels, AI setups, and risk metrics. A brief delay ensures data is stable, accurate, and free of rapid noise — essential for structural analysis.

Why is the last price sometimes different between charts and screener?​

Charts update real-time and contiously, often faster than the screener. The screener, on the other hand, runs each ticker through our processing engine at short intervals to update setups, metrics, and filters — usually every few seconds.

Why is my historical chart or indicator data different?​

Most indicators are calculated using end-of-day prices to avoid repainting during the live sessions. This approach creates stable, consistent trend indicators during intraday periods. All of our data is also adjusted for corporate actions including splits and dividends for accuracy.

Why are some prices different in other platforms?​

Minor price differences can occur due to:

  • Difference in used data providers
  • Corporate action adjustments (splits/dividends)
  • Slight sync timing offsets

Discrepancies are usually minor. If you notice a significant mismatch, contact support@marketalpha.ai.

Troubleshooting & Support​

My screener isn't updating — what should I do?​

Try the following:

  • Confirm you are using Real-Time update frequency in the bottom right toolbar
  • Use Manual Refresh if you are on a delayed frequency
  • Refresh your browser page

Platform Behavior​

Does MarketAlpha have a mobile app?​

Not yet. The platform is fully optimized for desktop browsers (Chrome, Safari). Mobile support is planned for the future.

How often is the platform updated?​

We release updates regularly — including new filters, metrics, indicators, and UI improvements. Stay informed by subscribing to our newsletter at or MarketAlpha.ai or in our Discord Server.

Can I share MarketAlpha screenshots publicly?​

Of course, as long as you attribute MarketAlpha in your posts or use the image export from our charts. Proper credit helps others discover the platform.
