Screener Toolbar Functions

The top toolbar in both the Ticker and Group Screeners provides fast access to essential functions for filtering, exporting, and customizing your screener layout.

These tools work the same in both screeners unless otherwise noted.

Search Input

The search bar allows you to search for:

  • Individual symbols (e.g. AAPL, NVDA)
  • Full company names (e.g. Apple Inc)
  • Entire industries or themes (e.g. Semiconductors, AI)
  • ETFs or ETNs

You can search for multiple items at once (e.g. NVDA, AAPL, QQQ, Software), and the search input is saved when you save a screener profile.

Reset Button

Clicking Reset gives you multiple options:

  • Reset to default → Loads the default screener profile for the current market session
  • Reset filters → Clears all active filters but keeps your current layout
  • Reset columns → Restores default columns for the session but keeps filters intact

Export Data

You can export screener results in several ways:

  • Export table to .csv → Exports all visible data from the screener, including all pages and columns
  • Export selected to .txt → Exports selected tickers or groups in plain-text list format (e.g. SPY, TSLA, QQQ)
  • Copy selected to clipboard → Copies selected tickers as a comma-separated list (e.g. SPY,TSLA,QQQ) for use in other tools or platforms

This helps transfer lists into other platforms, charting systems, or watchlists.

Lock Table Results

The Lock button lets you freeze a filtered set of results and apply a second filter relative to that locked group.

Example

  1. Filter by Industry = Semiconductors → 98 results
  2. Click Lock
  3. Apply filter Price > EMA 20 → 59 results
  4. Result: 60.20% of semiconductor companies are trading above EMA 20

This is powerful for answering percentage-based questions across custom segments.

Column Sidebar Button

Click this to open the Columns Sidebar, where you can:

  • Add or remove metrics from folders
  • View the “Active Columns” folder to quickly manage what’s shown
  • Drag columns to rearrange their order

Tooltips are available for all metrics inside the sidebar via the small (i) icon.

Compact vs Full Mode (Ticker Screener only)

Switch between:

  • Compact Mode → Only shows ticker symbol and basic icons
  • Full Mode → Shows full name, type, industry, theme, and special status icons

Icons you may see:

  • Purple Star → Top Alpha Setup
  • Green Flag / Red Flag → Earnings reported or upcoming
  • Orange Star → Low liquidity
  • IPO → New company under 200 trading days
  • FRN → Foreign listing
  • Green/Red Triangle → Strong/weak daily close relative to range
  • Decimal Value → Market beta

Full mode adds more context but reduces the number of rows visible on screen.

Compact / Full Header Toggle

This control expands or collapses column headers to show:

  • Short name → More screen space
  • Full name → Easier interpretation

You can use this to quickly toggle between clarity and space efficiency during research.

From the toolbar, you can also:

  • Open the Ticker News Sidebar (in Ticker Screener only)
  • Open the Ticker Screener from a selected group (in Group Screener only)
  • Trigger sidebars for charts, viewer, or multi-charts

Summary

The toolbar is your command center — giving you fast access to searching, exporting, filtering, locking, layout resets, and sidebar functions. Mastering these controls can dramatically speed up your screener workflow.
