Group Screener Guide

The Group Screener allows you to scan and compare industries and market themes using real-time and historical group metrics. It’s ideal for identifying momentum shifts, relative strength, trend alignment, and pinpointing where top-performing stocks are coming from.

What You Can Scan​

Each row in the Group Screener represents a single industry or theme, such as:

  • Semiconductors
  • Electric Vehicles
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Transportation & Logistics
  • Magnificent Seven

You’ll see real-time stats, structural metrics, relative strength, earnings trends, and aggregated setup activity — often weighted by market cap.

Core Features​

Real-Time Group Filtering​

Apply filters using the Data Filters Sidebar:

  • Filter by group ratings, performance, volatility, setups, divergences, and more
  • Combine conditions with AND/OR logic
  • Use community filter groups to quickly scan for setups like “Top Earnings Momentum Groups” or “Negative RSI Divergence”

Profile-Driven Views​

The Group Screener uses the same profile system as the Ticker Screener. Profiles control:

  • Active filters
  • Columns shown
  • Sorting method
  • Session-aware logic (e.g. Pre-Market profile loads when pre-market is active)

Switch between saved profiles or use MarketAlpha’s community profiles to explore different group analysis strategies.

Top Bar Tools​

Use the toolbar to:

  • Search for specific industries or themes
  • Reset filters, columns, or the entire layout
  • Export all data to .csv, or selected groups to .txt or clipboard
  • Lock table results to calculate percentage overlaps
  • Open the Group Viewer or Ticker Screener for selected groups

Drilldown Analysis​

From any row in the Group Screener, you can:

  • Open the Group Viewer to see full details, constituent tickers, and structural metrics
  • Launch the Ticker Screener pre-filtered for that group — this lets you isolate the exact stocks driving the group's metrics
  • Open the group in Multi-Charts to see all company charts from the group in a grid layout

These transitions are designed to help you quickly go from a macro trend to a micro setup — from sector-level insight to individual trade opportunity.
