MarketAlpha includes powerful interface shortcuts like hover tooltips, click-and-drag navigation, right-click context menus, and chart zoom controls. These subtle gestures give you full control and speed across the platform — no matter where you are.

Hover Tooltips​

MarketAlpha includes tooltips throughout the platform to help you instantly understand what each metric, filter, or data point means — without breaking your workflow.

You’ll find them in:

  • Column headers: Definitions and logic behind every metric across all screener tables
  • Individual cells: Deeper insights such as earnings surprises, rating breakdowns, or structural tags
  • Filters in Universal Search: Explanation of what each filter targets and how it can be used
  • (i) Icons: Found next to column and data filters — hover to learn what each option controls
  • Earnings Tables: Detailed contextual values when hovering over reported vs. estimated EPS or sales

These tooltips let you stay focused while exploring — giving you clarity and confidence as you scan, filter, and interpret results in real time.

Click & Drag to Explore Tables​

Use your mouse or trackpad to freely move across dense data tables:

  • Ticker Screener and Group Screener: Click and drag horizontally or vertically to navigate large tables with many columns — helpful when exploring multiple metrics side by side.
  • Ticker Viewer and Group Viewer: Smoothly pan across the full metrics table to scan deeper structural or fundamental data without losing context.
  • Earnings Table: Drag through multiple quarters or years of EPS and sales performance to compare trends, acceleration, and surprise data without reaching for scrollbars.

These gestures make it much easier to explore full data sets — especially when working with wide views, multiple rating columns, or detailed growth tables.

Context Menu (Right-Click)​

Right-clicking opens a dynamic menu based on where you are:

In Ticker Screener​

  • Open Industry or Theme in Group Viewer
  • Open Symbol in Ticker Viewer
  • Open News and Information Sidebar
  • Add to Watchlist

This menu enables fast transitions between screener results, viewer overlays, and macro-level insights — without navigating away from the screen.

In Group Screener​

  • Open in Ticker Screener
  • Open in Group Viewer

Quickly transition from group-level data to company-level setups or detailed macro analysis.

  • Right-click a ticker to load its industry or theme in the Group Viewer

In Watchlists​

  • Open Symbol in Main Chart
  • Open Ticker Viewer
  • Open Watchlist in Multi Charts
  • Create New Watchlist
  • Manage Watchlists
  • Columns Configuration

These actions support seamless workflows across your saved setups, from viewing detailed metrics to organizing or customizing your lists.

Chart Interactions​

All charts in MarketAlpha support responsive zooming and scaling:

  • Scroll Wheel: Zoom in/out across the time axis
  • Left-click + Drag (Chart Area): Pan horizontally
  • Left-click + Drag on Price Axis: Change vertical zoom
  • Left-click + Drag on Time Axis: Adjust horizontal compression
  • Double-click Price Axis: Reset vertical scale
  • Double-click Time Axis: Reset timeline range

These controls make it easy to isolate breakouts, compare past behavior, or review structural patterns.
