Top-Down Analysis
MarketAlpha makes it easy to jump from industry or theme-level research into specific company setups using integrated drilldown paths. You can move from macro to micro instantly — filtering, charting, and analyzing companies with zero setup required.
From Group Viewer to Ticker Screener
Inside the Group Viewer, you can instantly load a pre-filtered list of companies for deeper research:
- Click the Ticker Screener button at the top left to open all companies in the selected industry or theme
- Results are pre-filtered and ready for sorting, filtering, or watchlist workflows
Want to explore all tickers within a group? This is the fastest way to start from a theme and zoom into the full list of active companies.
Metric Isolation
The Group Viewer also supports clickable metric isolation. Most group-level metrics are interactive:
- For example, if 10 companies in FinTech have “Gap Ups,” clicking that value will:
- Open the Ticker Screener
- Pre-filter it to FinTech theme
- Add the condition Gap to Close > 0%
This lets you:
- Drill into specific technical or fundamental traits within a group
- Identify which companies are driving group performance
- Quickly find tickers that meet both group and metric criteria
- Move from trend observation to setup execution without rebuilding filters
Whether you’re screening for divergences, breakouts, volume surges, or risk/reward setups — group metrics become actionable in one click.
Looking to isolate companies with specific technical traits — like volume spikes, risk/reward setups, or trend reversals — within a group? This lets you act on that instantly.
From Group Viewer to Multi-Charts
Use the Multi-Charts button in Group Viewer to open Alpha Charts for every company in the group:
- Launches a real-time chart grid using your saved chart settings
- Sort by metrics like Risk/Reward, Relative Strength, or Divergence
- Identify structural trade setups instantly across the group
Perfect for visual scanning, rotation tracking, or setup comparison.
Prefer visual scanning over tables? Use this to compare multiple setups across one group side-by-side — great for spotting alignment, rotation, or divergences.
From Group Viewer to Ticker Viewer
In the top ticker panel of the Group Viewer, click on any company to open the full Ticker Viewer:
- Loads the Alpha Chart, earnings table, full metric breakdown, and news
- Lets you analyze strategy overlays and financials in a single view
Use the top panel to focus on high-liquidity or Top Alpha Setup names, color-coded for quick recognition.
Found a promising ticker in a group? Open it immediately for deep dive — ideal for checking setup conviction, earnings trends, or news in one scroll.
From Group Screener to Ticker Screener
Inside the Group Screener, you can:
- Select multiple rows of groups and click the Open in Ticker Screener button on the top left
- Right-click on any group and select Open in Ticker Screener
This instantly transitions you to company-level screener results scoped to the selected industry or theme. You can then apply any metric, filter, or sorting as needed.
Want to compare companies across multiple groups like “AI”, “Cybersecurity”, and “FinTech”? Combine them and dive into a unified screener to apply your strategy filters.
From Group Screener to Multi-Charts
In the Group Screener, you can also open full chart grids for selected groups:
- Select one or multiple groups
- Click the Multi-Charts button on top right to launch a chart grid of all companies within those groups
- Charts use your saved Alpha Chart settings and are sortable by any metric
This is ideal for visual comparison of structural setups across sectors, themes, or custom group combinations.
Need a bird’s-eye visual scan of a few sectors at once? This is ideal for scanning rotation across industries or validating setups with AI overlays.
