Creating & Saving Profiles

You can create your own screener profiles to save the exact setup you want — including filters, columns, sorting, and symbol search. These profiles can be updated, duplicated, or shared anytime.

What Gets Saved​

When you save a profile, MarketAlpha stores:

  • All active filters and group logic
  • Any active search input (e.g. NVDA, Semiconductors)
  • All visible columns and their arrangement
  • Sort order and active column
  • Filtered or selected tickers (for watchlist workflows)

Everything about your current view is preserved, so you can return to it later with one click.

How to Save a Profile​

To save your current setup:

  1. Click the Save Profile button in the top toolbar
  2. Name your profile (or update the existing one)
  3. Your current filter, column, and layout setup will be saved instantly

If you’re editing a Community Profile, a new copy will be saved in “My Profiles.”

Duplicating a Profile​

Want to experiment with changes without losing your current version?

  1. Open the Profile Sidebar
  2. Hover over any profile in “My Profiles”
  3. Click the duplicate icon to create a copy

This is ideal for testing strategies or customizing variations for different market conditions.

Updating a Profile​

If you've made changes and want to overwrite the current profile:

  • Click Save Profile in the top toolbar or Update Profile on the bottom of the Profile Sidebar
  • This applies only to profiles you created (not Community Profiles)

Your updated version will now reflect the latest filters, columns, and sorting order.

Creating a New Profile​

You can also create a brand-new profile starting from the current market state default:

  1. Open the Profile Sidebar
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Create New
  3. A new profile will be generated based on the current session’s default columns
  4. Make any changes you want and click Save Profile to store your setup

This is a quick way to start building a personalized view using the default logic as a foundation.

Sharing Profiles​

Profiles can be shared with other users via a unique link:

  • Click the share icon next to any profile
  • Copy the link and send it to another user
  • They’ll receive your full screener setup — including filters, columns, and sorting order.

Perfect for team workflows, strategy sharing, or comparing setups.
