Using Watchlists as Filters

Watchlists can be used as dynamic filters in the Ticker Screener to instantly narrow your results to just the tickers you care about.

This is ideal when:

  • You want to monitor setups only from a specific list of tickers
  • You track different strategies or themes in multiple watchlists
  • You're analyzing performance of your portfolio or trade candidates

How to Apply a Watchlist as a Filter

  1. Open the Data Filters Sidebar
  2. Use the search bar or scroll to the My Watchlists section
  3. Select one or more watchlists to apply as filters
  4. Screener results will instantly update to show only tickers from those lists

You can combine watchlist filters with any other filters — such as technical setups, earnings criteria, or volume thresholds.

Dynamic Behavior

Watchlist filters are fully dynamic:

  • If you add or remove tickers from a watchlist, the filtered screener view updates automatically
  • This makes it easy to maintain a live list of symbols that feed into your saved profiles or daily setups

Common Use Cases

  • Filter only for liquid tickers in your portfolio
  • Run custom strategy screens across a list of top names you follow
  • Use with community filters to test different setups on a curated watchlist

Summary

Watchlists can do more than just organize symbols — they become powerful inputs to your filtering logic. Apply them like any other filter to focus on exactly what matters, and let MarketAlpha do the rest in real time.
