Using Screener Profiles
Screener profiles are prebuilt or custom views that define what you see in the Ticker or Group Screener — including active filters, visible columns, sorting logic, and even search terms.
MarketAlpha automatically loads different profiles depending on market session (Pre-Market, Regular, Post-Market, Market Closed), and you can switch between them anytime from the toolbar or sidebar.
What a Profile Includes
Each screener profile stores:
- All active filters and filter logic
- Any active search terms
- Visible columns and their arrangement
- Sorting preferences
Once saved, your profile will restore your exact layout the next time you load it.
Profile Types
There are three profile types:
- Community Profiles → Built by the MarketAlpha team and regularly updated. Ideal for strategy scanning, setups, and research themes
- My Profiles → Any profiles you create or save. Fully editable
- Favorite Profiles → Profiles you’ve starred for quick access
All three are accessible from the dropdown menu or the Profile Sidebar.

How to Load a Profile
To switch profiles:
- Use the Profile dropdown in the top screener toolbar
- Or open the Profile Sidebar to search, browse, and organize your profiles
You can switch profiles at any time — your current layout will be replaced by the selected profile’s settings.
Market State Defaults
MarketAlpha automatically loads a default profile based on the current market session:
- Pre-Market → Loads Pre-Market strategy filters
- Regular Market → Loads setups tuned for intraday trading
- Post-Market → Adjusts filters and volume conditions accordingly
- Market Closed → Focuses on post-close analysis and next-day setup preparation
This ensures that your screener is always aligned with the most relevant context, without needing to switch manually.
