Working with Watchlists

Watchlists allow you to create custom groups of tickers to monitor, analyze, and filter — all dynamically. You can access them from anywhere in the platform by clicking the Watchlist Sidebar icon in the top right corner.

Creating a New Watchlist

There are multiple ways to create a new watchlist:

  1. Open the Watchlist Sidebar, click the dropdown, and select Create New Watchlist
  2. Go to Watchlist Configuration > Manage Watchlists > Create New
  3. Right-click on any symbol and choose Create New Watchlist from the dropdown

Once created, your new list will appear in the sidebar and can be edited anytime.

Adding Tickers

You can add tickers to any active watchlist from multiple places:

  • Directly in the Watchlist Sidebar using the "Add tickers..." input
  • Paste multiple tickers separated by commas (e.g. AAPL, MSFT, NVDA)
  • From the Ticker Screener:
    • Right-click on a row and choose Add to Watchlist
    • Or select multiple tickers using checkboxes and click the Add to Watchlist button on the top right
  • From Ticker Viewer, Main Charts, or Sidebar Charts via the "Add to Watchlist" button on top right
  • From Multi Charts via the top-left add icon in every chart

Important: You must have only one watchlist actively selected before adding symbols.

Combining Multiple Watchlists

In the Watchlist Sidebar, click Manage Watchlists and check off multiple lists to merge them into one active view. If a symbol appears in more than one list, it will only show once.

Watchlist Layout & Columns

You can display up to four columns per watchlist, including:

  • Ticker symbol column (always shown)
  • Up to 3 customizable metrics of your choice

To change which columns are shown:

  1. Click Watchlist Configuration > Columns Configuration
  2. Or right-click on a symbol and choose Column Configuration

All metrics available in the Ticker Screener can be added to watchlists, with tooltips shown on hover.

Rearranging Columns

  • Drag columns directly in the watchlist table to reorder them

You can use the arrow keys to quickly scroll through tickers in your active watchlist. While doing so, MarketAlpha automatically updates:

  • Main Charts
  • Ticker Viewer

This makes it easy to analyze each ticker one-by-one, using a unified layout.

Summary

Watchlists are your personal way to track symbols that matter. Use them to manage trade ideas, build research lists, or filter results — and access them instantly from every part of the platform.
